Do Thin Mints Cause Lesbianism? One Christian Radical Thinks So

Could the sale of Tagalongs, Thin Mints and Somoas lead to a lifetime of Toshi Reagon songs, flannel shirts and WPGA tournaments?

Religious right radio personality Kevin Swanson continued his assault on the Girl Scouts of America (GSA), claiming that the 103-year-old organization is little more than a breeding ground for future lesbians.

Right Wing Watch reports that on Wednesday's edition of Swanson's daily talk program "Generations Radio," the loose cannon pundit called for GSA organization leaders to be drowned. Claiming that the group corrupts children, he cited the Gospel of Matthew.

"If you offend one of these little ones who believes in me, it would be better for you that a millstone be hanged around your neck and you be drowned at the bottom of the sea," he said.

In October 2013, it was reported Swanson and his radio side kick Dave Buehner urged their listeners not to buy Girl Scout Cookies on the grounds that the organization promotes lesbianism and abortion.

"The individualism of feminism has been devastating to this country. I'd say you ought to say no to the Girl Scout cookies too," said Swanson. "I don't want to support lesbianism, I don't want to support Planned Parenthood and I don't want to support abortion, and if that be the case I'm not buying Girl Scout cookies."

"My guess is the average parent in America, I'm talking 95 percent of parents in America, are not going to be keen on their kids growing up and becoming lesbians and homosexuals at 24 years of age," Swanson said before bashing LGBT tolerance in public schools. "It's one reason why I have a hard time understanding why they send their kids, their little six-, seven-, eight- and nine-year-old kids to schools with the GLSEN-sponsored signs plastered all over the facilities."

Swanson is not alone in his fight against the GSA. RWW reports SPLC designated anti-gay hate group leader Linda Harvey of Mission America accused the Scouts of teaching "homosexual lifestyles" to girls, along with "an attitude of suspicion toward males in general." Fellow hate group official Cathy Ruse of the Family Research Council said in 2012 that the "radicals" leading the Girl Scouts seek to "promote abortion" and "push for same-sex marriage," alleging that Scout leaders believe that "abortion and sex-ed and promiscuity for very young girls is a good thing."

According to the GSA website, "Buying Girl Scout cookies is more than just handing over money for a box. It's about the skills and learning a girl gains from interacting directly with you. It's about the experience of running her own cookie business and working with others."

This seems like something Swanson's co-host Buehner finds unacceptable, since it will lead to be "a woman who is going to compete with men in the marketplace."
