NEW YORK - Eventi, A Kimpton Hotel is supporting the fight against HIV on World AIDS Day by hosting the final New York viewing of the renown touring exhibition "Graphic Intervention: 25 Years of International AIDS Awareness Posters 1985-2010" on December 1.

This exhibition showcases 153 posters from 44 countries to illustrate how this complex issue has been conceptualized in different cultures and time periods in the past 25 years. All day on December 1st, the Graphic Intervention exhibit will be broadcasted on the Big Screen at the Eventi Hotel Plaza to convey cautionary messages that influence, inspire, incite and inform the public.

The exhibit kicked off at MassArt, Boston in September 2010 and has thus traveled to 11 cities in the U.S. The display on Eventi's Big Screen will mark the last showing in NYC as the exhibit is set to terminate at the end of 2012. Curated by Elizabeth Resnick, Professor and Chair of Graphic Design at MassArt, and Javier Cortes, partner and creative director at Korn Design in Boston, Graphic Intervention draws from an extensive archive of arresting, graphic, intense and fearless international public health announcements.

The posters are a way of remembering those who have died due to AIDS-a graphic quilt of a different kind. This exhibit plays a central role in promoting awareness, saving lives, raising donations, influencing the public debate and speaking out in the face of this terrifying global disease.

The event part of a continuing series of educational events organized by Eventi; most recently, the public plaza hosted the Eventi Olympics, a free performance by the acclaimed Chamber Orchestra of New York, an educational event with NASA and various film festivals.
