Tour de Champagne returning to Boston for 3rd year; bringing White House pastry chef

Tour de Champagne, an event that joins forces with local restaurants and chefs to host champagne-tasting evenings, will come to Boston for its third annual visit on Saturday, Jan. 30.

Accompanying them in 2010 will be former White House pastry chef Roland Mesnier, who will take the demonstration stage by storm and add his legendary desserts to a menu whipped up by Boston's best. Mesnier was the official White House pastry chef for 25 years and is the author of delicious dessert cookbooks.

The main event starts at 7 p.m. at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge. Guests will sip Taittinger, Veuve Clicquot, Paul Goerg, and Ruinart while perusing a silent auction to benefit the Greater Boston Food Bank. VIP ticket holders will have access to a Fin de Soir�e featuring Peyrot Cognac, a crepe station, live music, and a dessert bar from the Charles Hotel at the Regatta Bar following the main event.

Participating restaurants include Asana, B&G Oysters, Henrietta's Table, La Voile, Legal Sea Foods Charles Square, Master Chef Jean-Louis Dumonet, Rialto Restaurant + Bar, Sandrine's: A Bistro, and UpStairs on the Square.
